Peak travel season is upon us, and we are seeing sales for travel now through winter. Even though these sales include summer travel, demand is particularly high this year, so flexibility is the key to getting lower fares. Flying on Tuesdays and Wednesdays typically will be your best bets for cheap seats. Travelers who avoid the summer months will have an easier time finding sale Cheap Cruises seats.

When you do see sales, if you would prefer to travel on another carrier, wait a day before booking. Other airlines often match sale fares within a day of the initiation of the sale. You don't want to wait too long to purchase peak-season tickets because sale seats may go fast.

AirTran has launched a sale that offers discount airfares for travel systemwide. Tickets must be purchased by Tuesday for travel June 19 through Nov. 8. The cheapest days to travel are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and slightly higher airfares are available for travel Mondays, Cheap Cruises Thursdays and Saturdays. Midwest Airlines has discounted fares for travel between select U.S. cities. Tickets must be purchased by Tuesday Cheap Cruises for travel June 19 through Oct. 16. Fares are cheapest for travel on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
